The Paez have a holistic approach to farming, built on self-sufficiency. Coffee is a key component, but we also saw corn, bean, fruit trees, medicinal herbs and many other plants and trees growing in the diverse forest-like farm. Fondo Paez was founded in 1992, with the primary goal of recuperating traditional indigenous agricultural knowledge. Coffee is grown and processed by more than 1000 indigenous farmers, from 28 communities in the south west region of Colombia, drawn together to form Fondo Paez. |
